I am not going to make the claim that this petition will change the outcome of the Public Inquiry into the future of Dreamland, but I think it is important that we highlight what the people of Thanet want. As a Councillor I was elected to campaign on the issues that are important to Thanet's population, and the conversations we had today with local people proves that this issue is one of high local concern.
A copy of my previous post explaining the reasons for the campaign can be found at: http://williamscobie.blogspot.com/2011/12/save-dreamland-campaign.html
A copy of the petition itself can be found at: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1A4PbpXvHyNyMJmeueyG4-OGmksRL30f25394ryAW6C0/edit?hl=en_GB&pli=1

Maybe you should (try to) persuade a Tory cllr to stand there with you? That way it is made clear that this isn't a political issue. Just a thought.
The petition isn't political, and it is exactly what Cllr Bayford and his Cabinet were arguing for when they were in power. In fact it was their administration that brought us to this point and I support what they have done. This is about what is best for Thanet.
James, for example, is a member of North Thanet Conservatives and he is promoting and supporting the campaign on his blog. The campaign will be working over the next week to get as many signatures as possible and I invite ANYBODY to come and get involved.
My point is that if just one party is seen campaigning then it LOOKS political to most people, can't you see that? Of course if you're right then I'm sure a Tory cllr or two won't mind helping you out.
And yes, James is very fair minded, sticking up for whatever he thinks is right (as I'm sure you do Will).
